Nice win over UMass. With the state of the B1G this year who knows how far PSU can go. It would be a disappointment at this point if they weren't undefeated going into the OSU game in a few weeks.
If Franklin is half as good of an actual coach as he is a recruiter then things look quite bright in Happy Valley. His recruiting so far has been amazing.
It's nice to have an opening day where I don't expect my team to suck. I have every reason to believe the Pirates will have another good season in 2014.
The Cathedral is definitely a neat building. I spent quite a bit of time in Oakland visiting my brother, always seemed like a pretty neat place to go to school. I've always favored the more traditional campus like PSU has...hence why I went there.
I'm a big O'Brien fan, I assume much more than most PSU fans since he left. Liked his offense, thought he did a great job with the QBs. Franklin seems to have the edge in recruiting over O'Brien, hopefully he can produce with his game day performance as well. I'm optimistic.
Company line is it allows them to maximize their Spring practices by not having a Spring game. Fact is, nobody goes to it, it's generally held at a high school stadium, and it basically just shows how little support they have for their program.
