I will say this though: If he goes to Ferrari and somehow wins a title there, he has to be the GOAT. It's one thing to win a title, another to win multiple titles, and yet another to do it with more than 1 team. But 3 teams? That's crazy. Not even Schumacher could accomplish that.

It's the sustainable fuel thing. They have a deal with a research centre and have a clear advantage. It all kicks in in 2026. I wouldn't be surprised if it just makes them explode more engines though....

I watched the Nascar show on Netflix about the chase last year and was entertained. Still not a fan of the new format, but it was nice to see they have some drama and asshole drivers again. May need to try tuning into a race or two again

I really liked that show. I think it's actually more compelling than DTS at this point mostly because RBR is just invincible and probably will be through 2025/as long as Max is Max. DTS was super compelling when Mercedes was at the end of their reign.

Hamlin seems like a raging narcissist, and I love that Byron was a fucking sim racer and is now winning consistently IRL lol.

Not sure which is worse, F1 race with an exciting first lap and ZZZZZs the rest of the way, or a Nascar race where they’re running half throttle for 499 miles and only try to pass in the final 10 seconds when the inevitable wreck occurs.

NASCAR because I'm wasting 3.5 hours just to get to mile 499. With F1, I can change the channel after Max takes the lead into turn 1 on the first lap.

Even the entire F1 race is only 2 hours, sometimes shorter, depending on cautions of course. And you get to enjoy that Mercedes track performance now matches their hilariously stupid consumer vehicles.

The SL43 is now a $125,000 turbo 4 car, the GLA/GLB are genuine pieces of shit, the C63 was ruined with some hyper complicated soulless hybrid crap and tons of screens, their CEO is now backtracking on claim to bring the V8s back, and the EV stuff is just weird and horribly marketed.

Also, 0-60 is dumb and already meaningless (thanks "rollout" measurements) but this is an $80,000, turbocharged inline 6 WITH hybrid assistance that can't get to 60 in under 5 seconds.

lol. My Tesla Model 3 SR+ (the base model) gets to 60 about as quick as that. And those could have been had for under $30k new last year with the tax credit. The Model Y Performance is under 4 seconds, and you can get a used 2 year old version for $34k all day long.

5.1 is basically the Integra Type S, which does it with a manual...which is half that price, once you consider 80k is the base of that E Cabriolet with no options.

Dogshit fuel economy too. I got better out of muh SCAT PACK, and I guarantee you that was more fun to drive than any 6 cylinder turbo Merc (that's street legal of course).
