A team enters the final weekend ranked #3. They win their game by over 50 points (albeit against a shitty team) and fall all the way to #6 because #BRAND.

As TCU, what are you supposed to do in the final weekend?

hahaha i love that the committee couldn't decide between tcu and baylor so they just left them both out and put CUM in the playoff because he won a shitty league and his school's name is ohio state. college football is gayer now than it ever has been. still, fuck tcu and baylor. should have enhanced their brands, i guess

I already addressed this. If what happened this week happened in the middle of the season, the same rankings switch likely would have occurred.

Baylor and Ohio State moved ahead because they both had great, convinving wins (over #9 and #13). It has nothing to do with TCU. TCU had their great wins earlier in the season, which got them to #3 in the first place.

although i don't think ohio state's win should have bumped them over baylor

Here is the only logic that matters: $. One undefeated P5 team automatically gets in. Between the 1-loss teams it is a beauty pageant and the non-money teams are left out.

Ranking TCU #3 over FSU last week was just silly. They didn't mean it. I don't disagree that Ohio State or Baylor couldn't jump TCU... I don't understand why FSU jumped TCU. The answer is the committee was just putting FSU #4 as some retarded statement, and never really meant it.

i love how ho-hum everyone was about baylor's win.

probably the biggest win in the history of their school, with all of the pressure on them, against a disciplined team. they didn't flinch.

i'm just explaining why it happened, not that i agree with it.

the reasons are money. the cover is the stupid "NO CONFERENCE SHAMPSHIP". it's perfect for the committee. florida state won their confernece, man. that's puts them over the top. tcu and baylor are tied NO TIES IN FOOTBAW

Baylor lost on the road to a team who TCU needed a last second FG to beat.

Ohio State lost to a team who celebrated at the end of the 4th quarter in a game that they had scored 0 points in.

Can't we just make the playoffs exclusive to California and Colorado schools with Hawaii thrown in every time they win 6 games? I hate that this sport is dominated by such terrible people

I just want you all to know that in The Prem, one true OBJECTIVE champion is crowned based on their actual body of work, not politics. Beyond winning the league outright, there are various incentives for finishing in the top 4, top 6, etc and there are disincentives for finishing in the bottom of the league. This means that every game really does count to someone! @ZeekLTK had this shit right all along.

My current favorite team is only 1 win ahead of my previous favorite team. Oh the excitement! Will I have to change allegiance again before the season ends?

Not apples to apples though. BCS tried to get the top two teams. Do you agree that the top two teams are in this 4 team playoff? If so, then the playoff has succeeded at least as well as the BCS. Or, is there other criteria you are looking at?

In terms of avoiding undeserving teams having a shot at winning the national championship, the BCS is 15/16 and the playoff is 0/1.

Isnt it pretty obvious the committee told the Big 12 to get a conference championship game? And until that happens they better produce an undefeated team if they want to get into the playoffs? They are placing a high value on a conference championship game. In a way I agree with them in that the teams that made it into the playoff had one extra quality game vs TCU and Baylor.

Yeah, but they also played Rutgers, Maryland, Michigan, Penn State, Illinois and Indiana, and that's just in the Big Ten. Outside of Kansas, the Big 12 doesn't have teams that bad. Conference championship games are dumb.

Wat? Out of all five conference championship games this weekend (counting KSU-Baylor as the de facto Big XII title game) every single team was ranked in the top 16.

What do you mean they aren't an extra quality game? Saturday's might not have been, but the last 3 that Bama played in were basically round 1 of the playoffs, and all were quality games. The 08/09 Bama/UF were especially good.

Ya'll get too worked up about this, but conference shampships should never happen with rematches. Already settled, they are only needed because conferences add too many teams. Round robin da bess but it isn't as lucrative. It doesn't add an extra quality game because it shouldn't be needed in the first place.

Sorry, but reality (or I guess in this case, logic) does hit you hard sometimes bros
