I'm not sure I can care this much about anything let alone sportsbawlNgl - reading the last page of this thread, and when the Doyers were down 5-0, and with my PTSD of all my favorite sports teams having, at one time or another, suffered epic collapses - I seriously had the thought that the Jankees would manage to pull off what has never been done and come back and actually win the series. I literally turned off the radio and thought I'd just later learn that the series was 3-2 and going back to L.A., with the Jankees having all the momentum.
I was almost having a mild anxiety attack. I saw @CJ_24 's post about Capobianco being the Grand Marshal at the Jankees victory parade and it immediately made me think of Trump supporters and how we as a society have come to the point of actually celebrating and defending the worst of humanity.
Fortunately, my curiosity got the better of me and I tuned back in around the 7th inning, after learning that the Dodgers had closed the gap to 5-6.
Watched the rest at home and then stayed indoors because of all the celebratory gunfire.

Is one a fan if they are not a fanatic? One can be a fan without being a fanatic.
I mean, that is literally what "fan" means. One can be a fan without being a fanatic.
100+ years ago. Things and words change.I mean, that is literally what "fan" means.
Yes.is it cool to "judge" a ball that is 10 inches out of the zone as a strike?
Shouldn't be appealableI saw this at a game in Reno this year and it took all of 2 seconds to appeal and revise the call. OH NO
Fuck this bullshit. Judgement calls are part of the game.
"The official strike zone is the area over home plate from the midpoint between a batter's shoulders and the top of the uniform pants -- when the batter is in his stance and prepared to swing at a pitched ball -- and a point just below the kneecap. In order to get a strike call, part of the ball must cross over part of home plate while in the aforementioned area."There is gray area within that definition. Robo umps are stupid
Literally none of that is grey. It's all right there defined."The official strike zone is the area over home plate from the midpoint between a batter's shoulders and the top of the uniform pants -- when the batter is in his stance and prepared to swing at a pitched ball -- and a point just below the kneecap. In order to get a strike call, part of the ball must cross over part of home plate while in the aforementioned area."
What is "the midpoint" between the shoulders and the top of the uniform pants?
What is "just below" the kneecap?
What is "part" of home plate.
There is some gray area within the definition of those terms. Robo umps arbitrarily create a definition of the strike zone that is not actually in the rulebook.
It's lunacy
A broccoli from broccoli man himself! I feel honored. Feels almost as good as getting beloved elk steaks from @Travis7401!
This is so dumb but will never happenThat’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of. How about we do ghost runners and shit like backyard wiffle ball
The Manfred ManSo theoretically if you had bases loaded and Juan Soto struck out popped out, you could just have him bat again?? Like it’s so dumb I can’t even fathom. Who suggested this??
