I love speed skating, especially the relays. But it can be frustrating if a crash (as fun as those are) make an undeserving team win.

I love the snowboard cross races, too.

Lots of fun sports to watch in the Winter Olympics, to me, to me.

Was watching the men's downhill last night and thought how nuts these guys are flying down a mountain at like 90mph. Also was amused at how tubby most of them are. I get that more weight = more momentum going downhill, but it still looks funny that a bunch of guys that look like they stumble out of bars on the regular are world-class atholetes

They're skiing on almost pure ice, too. I'm a really good skier, and I was scared shitless for them watching last night.

The amount of leg strength they have is insane, too. Recovering from almost falling like a few did - I can't even imagine how that's possible.

At least in luge, skeleton and bobsled, the athletes are contained by the track and usually slow down quickly as they go up the banking at 70+ mph. In downhill, the only thing stopping the athlete, at 80+ mph, is the catch fence and/or trees. Downhill skiers are batshit crazy.

Snowboard cross can be one of the most exciting events. But NBC Primetime shows 30 Super G racers with the camera focused on Michaela while she talks to teammates and coaches. smh

I found NBC's coverage of Michaela, last night, to be awful. They made it sound like just completing the course was a major milestone. FFS, she's one of the best skiers in the world, her goal is to win not just finish the course. The commentary was very condescending.

(Having said that, I really hope Brooklyn and the 76ers meet in the playoffs so we can see Ben Simmons's return to Philly)
