It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Mason Fazackerley, the Key West Pirates 25-year-old first baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for South League Player of the Week honors.

He ripped 10 hits in 21 at-bats, compiling a .476 average with 4 home runs and 5 RBIs.

This season Fazackerley is batting .348 with 38 home runs. His totals include 113 RBIs and 92 runs scored.

Fazackerly has put the team on his back and carried them from 11.0 games back to the division lead... so far.

Currently 2nd in BA, and 1st in OBP, Slugging, OPS and wOBA

Depending on how this final week goes, I should end up right about where I planned going into the season. Hopefully I can build on that going into next year.

@Yankee151 has the #1 pick locked up. I should've called up my Single A guys a month ago. Although after the way the mexican leprechaun drafted this past draft, I will probably be able to pick up the #1 overall prospect anyway.

I actually have decent hope for my team. The predicted 43 wins was a slap in the face.

I'd say at least 65-70. Anything less and I'll be disappointed.
No offense Lloyd but your team is horrific. Other than maybe 3 hitters and 3 SP you've got very little. Not much you can do when you're given that hand. You can just tank this year and get good picks/not spend money.

No bad contracts tho so you can rebuild as fast as you want in the UBL. If you want next year you could make 4-5 splashes in FA and be good. In our old league no way you could do that since there weren't that many good FAs.

Suck it.

Apparently the warm Brazil summers have taken it's toll on Sao Paulo. The ughPhillies have gained 2 games this week. Mus'ad Abdul-Matin has returned and hasn't missed a step.

I'm wondering if it's because my owner died.

@Lloyd Carr I cut Armando Morales today. He should be free tonight. Another DH type that should be cheap.

It is upsetting that Burks wanted 10M per from me but signed with you for 3M. Eff you burks

"Be around .500"

He is currently ecstatic, but loves money more I guess haha. Fan interest is up, but attendance is way down. I believe the rest of our games are at home, so we will see where we end up.

I'll take a look at him. Still contemplating my options and trying to figure out how I want to handle the team.

I would also send you Bill Dickey on my AAA team for next to nothing. He is young and has good power.

Attendance is the key imo. Still shouldn't be dropping but you really didn't make any money. Just a tough year up North

That was so weird. As soon as he moved over I checked extensions and he only wanted $3M. Wat. Guess he likes the Swedish ladies.

We will see where it ends up. I assume it will increase my maybe $1m or stay where it is. That number hasn't really changed since 4/1. Luckily we will be basically the same team next year, so hopefully the fans come out and Farren can stay healthy.

My attendance is down 9% eventhough I lowered prices and my team is going to win 100+ games… so odd. I guess you don't really feel the bump until the next year?

I guess I am just having problems seeing how my budget is $150 mil and my player payroll is $116 mil yet i'm 9 million in the red on my current balance while i'm only 2 million in the red on my projected balance. Also, why do I have 9 million in the green in cash in my current overview?
There are three main other things you pay for:
- Scouting (has its own page… basically how much you pay to scout players and it has a 12M cap we are all usually at that cap)
- Draft (how much you pay in bonuses for your draft picks)
- Player Devo (how much you pour into your minor league players…. most of us are anywhere from 8M to 14M I'd guess. People aren't sure how much this really matters)

You can adjust scouting and player devo money during the off-season. For instance, if you want to win now and need money you can lower both. If you want to develop your minor leaguers more you can increase both.

You carried over a 9M profit from the year before.

I'm ready for the playoffs… giving my SPs some rest this sim. Also changing up my closer to one of my starters.

Lineup wise I'm going to give some of my best players rest down the stretch. My magic # is 1 so I trust I will win one game or Berlin/Moscow will lose one. Just a hunch.

Have some decisions to make with how to structure my playoff roster especially with a DH.

So do they require a playoff of WC homefield?

Also lost Alchemist to a broken hand just like Farren. WTF. Season is over, but I hope that doesnt kill his development. He is durable too.

Hopefully the playoff games allow for an extra day before the Lambships… my best SP has a hurt back and is day-to-day.

I'm going to go with a 9-man bullpen for the first round at least with a three-man rotation. Will figure out a game 4 scenario if I have to with short rest or one of the guys in my bullpen who started this year. Two lefty specialists in my bullpen since it's RH dominant. Should be interesting especially because both Berlin and Moscow are LH mostly lineups both with a couple of SH.

It'll be interesting… I'm kinda shocked Moscow was 41-40 at home and 53-28 on the road. Their home park is a hitters park. Berlin was the same at home and on the road. Berlin's bullpen is a dumpster fire too whereas Moscow has the higher season ERA but the guys in the pen now are pretty good (especially back end of it).

I was five games better at home than the road and my park depresses offense (for RH especially) so Berlin's 2 and 3 hitters are RH which is another reason I rather face them.

Edit: now I think more too a SP I was going to make a set up guy (Kusama) is 69% GB so I might start him game 1 if it's against Moscow but keep him in the bullpen if it's Berlin.

Moscow is the more fun matchup. Good hitting team and you guys played it even on the year.

Bummed we had such a shitty start to the year. Be fun to play Vegas in a playoff series.

I low key hated you for the longest because he was stuck in A. Bring him up to ST

I wanted to move him along faster, but he's so damn young. Kid gloves, yo. He raked raked in his half-season at AA, and had a WAR
over 1 in 9 games at AAA. The OSA and my scout area really far apart in how they rate him currently.
