2019 MINSHEW

Just like Utah Jazz fans trying to sue Scottie Pippen for lighting a victory cigar after the Bulls punked the Jazz (again) in the Finals.

Is this true? This is the first time I've ever heard of that. I almost wonder if it's a story that was made up but has survived despite not being true.

Only if it's not true. I've just never heard that story before. And this was 20 years ago, well before people nowadays react that way to stupid things all the time and make it seem more plausible. It may well be true. I'm just seriously asking.

My recollection of it was from listening to Jim Rome, who mentioned that some Jazz fans, upset about losing to the Bulls for a second straight year, wanted to prosecute Scottie Pippen for breaking the "No Smoking" rules of the building when he lit up that victory cigar.

Not sure if it went beyond verbal bellyaching, or if any paperwork was actually filed, but I'm sure 99.9999% of people recognized it as simple sour grapes.

My guess is that it was more some self-righteous person who took the "no smoking indoors" rule too seriously given the situation. That same person could have done the same thing had the Jazz won and Karl Malone had lit up. I could be wrong, but I think it was just a complaint and Rome amplified it to prosecution for more drama. I don't see Jazz fans seriously talking about threatening to sue a guy for that. I don't question that someone complained. I think it just got amplified to a legal case when that was never really something anyone actually was thinking about. However, I reserve the right to be wrong.

Poor Larry Fitzgerald.

If all goes according to plan, Fitzgerald will catch passes from Rosen and Rosen only this year; the former UCLA product struggled in his rookie campaign but has enough talent to be the third-best QB of Fitzgerald’s career without very little effort. If he should falter, fear not: Forever backup Mike Glennon might be there to save the day. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury could also suit up in case of an emergency.

what could possibly go wrong

The Browns now were breaking the rules and losing, leading to even more public mocking. The outside anger was felt inside the building. Marketing executives wanted employees to see how fans were engaging with the Browns on social media, so they projected the Browns feed onto a giant wall at the facility. It was like broadcasting talk radio over the entire building, and one day in particular, it was worse than that. One of the marketing staffers entered a search for #dp -- for Dawg Pound. The problem was, that hashtag carried a few different meanings, one of which triggered an array of porn to be broadcast onto a wall for the entire office to see for more than 20 minutes, until a tech employee killed the feed.

Based on the Saints/Seahawks fandom, I think the Rams will have to win the Super Bowl first...

Tell them not now
nah lol

its stupid

yea, it stung a lil initially b/c you kept thinking, this flag is coming, this flag is coming, then it didnt

Drew threw the pick, and you had a feeling then, the ride was over

NOTHING done now is going to reverse it. The players for the saints must've gotten a stern talking to or something b/c they have done nothing but praise the city and the fans for the season and they all have the same "we'll be back next year" kinda tweets. They're not even talking about it, at least publicly, so just let it go

i liked the season....winning 13 in a row after getting routed in the home opener. No one saw that coming. They came up short in the NFC championship. It is what it is

There are a bunch of downright shitty teams whose fans I can't imagine behaving like this. It definitely has that Saints stink on it.
