Some perspective on what our offense had to deal with the last 6 weeks of the season.

Total Defense rank:
Louisville - #6
UVA - #30
Miami - #14
BC - #12
UF - #9
GT - #63 - Our best performance on offense imo.

I dont feel so bad that GT did so well against us. Our defense is full of young talent and manged to slow them down enough to win. The 2nd best SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC team just got rolled by them.

Some reason I am not that mad about the lost. I would rather lose big then a close game.

You can't win games by turning the ball over 5 or 6 times.

Cook is a talent player, but he need to work on his fumble issue in the off-season.

I felt the same way. Once it got ugly I was like meh. Oregon was on a different level than us tonight. This game was a microcosm of our issues all year. It was just we never faced a team with the capability to make us suffer from our mistakes like Oregon. It will be interesting to see how we respond next fall. I still think we have an issue with the defensive coaching staff. All season our defenses came out flat or clueless. Except for the first series by Oregon we looked clueless all night. We have better athletes than what we are producing on the field.

i felt bad for cook. had a great game up until the two fumbles.

extremely conservative oregon D worked, since flazzu couldn't stop oregon on D.

i see what yall are saying about the defensive coaching staff. no pressure on mariota. no one shooting through gaps. poor discipline on read plays. honestly i can't remember any defense oregon played this year make fewer plays on the ball than flazzu today. that shouldn't happen with the type of players florida state has.

We don't attack at all nor get off blocks nor create turnovers. This years scheme looked like we contained with our line and tried to make a play down field. There were several times last night we got through to Mariota. But then our guys would shadow him. Just no attack at all. And it has been like that all year. Last year we were attacking through gaps, getting sacks, making the QB feel pressure. To beat Mariota we had to make him uncomfortable. Instead we let him pick us apart. I think the Charles Kelly hire was a bad one. One that will hold this team back until Fisher finally has enough and finds a coordinator with a better vision. I just hope it doesn't take more than one year. Because this type of rot can destroy a solid foundation pretty quick.

I really believe if Pruitt stayed one more year instead of bolting to UGA. This team would had looked vastly different and more dominant through the year.

Edwards and Williams are gone. Levenberry is transferring. Any word on why? Winston is trying to build suspense about his NFL future.

Edit: And now official Winston is going pro.

Next year is going to be a tough pill to swallow after all the success of the last 3 seasons. Losing our offensive line, 2 defensive starters so far, and Winston. But our recruiting has been amazing. Just a matter of getting these young players coached up. This last years team was pretty young minus the offensive line.

If Miller decides to come to become a 1st round draft pick then I think we have a good shot. But Clemson should be a problem for us.

I love how people talk about Russell, Ponder, and Manuel under Jumbos coaching like its a really good thing.

Yeah you're kind of making the point for me.

He produces 1st round QBs. Any QB who values being a first round pick would be wise to attend FSU. If your point is they don't pan out in the NFL. How is that on Fisher? Once out of his guidance it is up to the player to produce in the NFL.

Darby and Goldman declare to join Williams, Winston, Mario Edwards Jr. That leaves Tyler Hunter as the only senior starter on the defense next year. And depending on how these new guys look. Hunter may not even start as Ramsey may get moved to his position.

Probably the most talented class since Fisher has taken over the program. And we are going to need it due to the turnover we are seeing. I could see all 5 of those 5 stars playing. A couple of them may even start. Especially James and McFadden due to the departure of Williams and Darby. I also expect Marcus Lewis will see some time next Fall. Josh Sweat could be a Featherston like player. Definitely should see some time. Lorezno Phillips sounds like a beast. A guy with size and speed that can step in and play right out of the gate. If James is as good as he sounds. I am curious how they handle Tyler Hunter. I felt he plays tentative. Which I think is a result of his injury. I cant blame him for it. But at the same time the best players need to be on the field.

On the offensive side of the ball. I could see Patrick get some time as the 3rd back in the rotation depending on how well he picks up the blocking schemes. Be curious to see if Bello gets into the line rotation. Campbell may also join the rotation at WR.

Just watched first half of the spring game. 3 true freshman scored 3 TDs in the first 6 mins of the game. They will be play makers next Fall. Cook looked as good as the end of the last year. Patrick has the potential to be something special at RB. Maybe a tally version of thunder and lightning this year? WR corps looks as deep as it has in years. QB position is a huge question mark. I'm not convinced Maguire has what it takes to get it done. His backups looked pretty meh as well. Offensive line also a huge question mark. Derwin James imo will eventually replace Hunter at free safety. That guy looks like a vet and his size is something we haven't had at FS in years. Trey Marshall looked really good as the nickel back. Didnt see much of Ramsey at CB. Which means he was doing his job well.

Tough to gauge how this team will do in the fall based on the Spring game. There is a lot of potential. But also a lot of raw inexperienced talent. Definitely going to be a step back this year. Just a question of how far back.

I didn't realize Matias had shoulder issues. If he was healthy would had put us at 30 drafted over the last 3 years. He signed with the Titans.

I loved him in run support.

Forced a few very important fumbles for us while the rest of Defense seemed to be waiting for the NFL before season even got started.

Both cbs gave up more plays this year as they had a drop off in pass rush and elite safety help (Joyner and t Brooks went to NFL after '13 season)

I liked pj better than darby going into draft due to Ronald feeling like a track guy in pads...
I was reel e hoping pj would go to the seahawks or bhcs I think he will be
A good NFL player
