I always thought the stricture on not calling USC "Southern Cal" was stupid.

FWIW, when I was a student, I bought a sweatshirt at the USC bookstore on campus that said "Southern Cal" across the chest.

But fuck Lou Holththththh whenever he said it.

Probably that's where people got annoyed with it.

Edit: also, anyone calling California,"Cali" obviously ain't from around here.
