Pac-12 Thread

They should play better given the talent that they have, but Cal hasn't had a top 10 recruiting class in a decade. They're 4th at this point among the California Pac-12 teams and probably behind Oregon too in terms of getting California talent. Dykes' classes have ranked #32, #46, and #29. UCLA, SC, and Stanford have had top 20 classes all three of those years (except for Furd's 2013 class, which was #62 for some reason).
Hmm thought I read different. Guess I was wrong, but still if Stanford can be a top team so can Cal.

@bruin228 cal plays Texas right?

I hope they can pull it off.

I feel pretty good about it. Their offense is going to be great next year, they can definitely move the ball on UT. Their defense just needs to not suck this year for them to win games so Texas is a good matchup, considering how offensively inept they've been for half a decade. I'm not 100% sure they'll win or anything, but I say they have a pretty good chance provided their offense doesn't choke.

Sucks, but fortunately anyone is replaceable in that skill group. Probably the best in the history of the program. They played a lot without him last season. Wonder if Marshall will get more carries with Addison returning to WR, and they bring Nelson back to hybrid WR. Haven't been following though. One of the young RBs will get some carries I imagine.

Really hoping Devon Allen and Addison are healthy though. Wonder if Carrington will pick up where he left off.

Mora and his family made a donation to the Wasserman Center. He's going to be around for awhile.:)

Adams passed his math test.

Lockie will probably never start a game at Oregon.

Travis Waller-Jonsen the deal.

Im just baffled at what a debacle this transfer has been. How does this kid not make sure he graduates in the Spring? Sounds like he wasnt able to work with the team at all. Now he is over a week late to camp.

How did they agree to this schedule? Did they last-minute schedule some OOC games in what should be a bye week?
No, apparently it's some quirk of the Pac-12 scheduling. Every now and then, one team gets saddled with this shit. I don't recall the exact details. Arizona's three OOC games are still the first three of the season.

It's not like he's coming in green, he's been studying the playbook all summer. He will be fine I just hope he separates himself from Lockie this summer so he can solidify himself as the starter that way there's no "who do we start" against MSU because any QB on their roster can lead them to victory over Eastern Washington.

Like Bruce Arians says man some players are special under the lights and some aren't. I think this is where Adams separates himself from Lockie I just hope it doesn't take too long to find out.

Or maybe Lockie shocks the world and leads us to winning the ship lmao.

I am indeed I just rarely take part in these team discussions because most of you aren't even real fans you just speculate about shit and throw your uninformed opinion around like it means something.

I think it has something to do with Notre Dame playing at Southern California/Stanford during Thanksgiving weekend every year. Brigham Young should play the Pac-12 team on the "bye" that weekend.

I guess TWC has been advertising "PAC-12 Network's Week 1 Showdown" between SC and Arkansas State. Except they've been using Arkansas' logo.

Shit stew for a shitty network.

Thanks DirecTV.

Arkansas State will probably play SC tighter than Arkansas did.

That game hurt. That was the last game I have seen Arkansas play in person. I was stationed in San Diego and drove up to watch it in the Coliseum. I think the final was 70-17.

USC was really rolling with Bush, Leinart and company.

Fun times. I was there in person, and can recall what it sounded like when 90,000 people collectively gasped at a Reggie Bush run.

Eh - I predict a hopelessly vanilla game against Arkansas State. USC will still roll, but it'll be boring as hell beyond the second quarter. Think 42-14.

All these Pac 12 Game In An Hour on FSW (I think) are money.

Edit, they're on the Pac-12 network.

Steve Sarkisian reportedly drunk at USC donor event, drops F-bomb, pulled off stage

Steve Sarkisian has had some rough times personally, so you can imagine that he's not the best frame of mind right now.

That being said, Sarkisian has a history of venting behind close doors (he bashed Cal at a Washington donor event after snatching peak recruiter Tosh Lupoi away) and open ones (he made fun of fancy uniforms at Pac-12 Media Day, and Oregon was quick to pounce). Saturday night, he went peak Sark Week on Saturday Night at the Salute To Troy event. The Salute to Troy is the official kickoff to the USC football season and an annual school-sponsored event for big donors and is usually a festive showing.

But it turned south pretty quickly when Sark took the stage in front of the USC players, staff, coaches, their families and friends and all the assorted donors.

We only have some tidbits of his antics via Twitter, but here are the key points that we can focus on.

Sarkisian was definitely drunk at the event and slurring his words during the speech. That's been confirmed by multiple sources at the party.
Sarkisian dropped an F-Bomb while introducing his team to the donors.

Sarkisian could not complete his speech and was pulled off stage by athletic director Pat Haden and former Trojan legend John McKay.

Sark apparently said some other inappropriate things during the speech that we cannot confirm at this time, but it sounds like a lot of Trojan donors who were present were not too happy with the proceedings. We'll update the post if we can confirm any of the other things.
