Attended my first NHL game last night with the Hurricanes at Utah. (Read the following as Stefon from SNL) This game had it all. Scoring. Penalties. Video reviews. Loud fans of the opposing team. A fight. It was a great experience and I enjoyed my time with family there (two of my siblings and their spouses). My brother liked that he got to hear me chant "Let's go Utah" for the first time in my life (he's a Ute fan).

Both Montgomery and Bruce Cassidy had won more than 2/3 of their games when they were fired. I get that they want a Cup with the current core but I don't think firing corches who win a lot of games is necessarily the most expedient way to get one.

As much as I hate to say it, Nurse was playing pretty well until that cheap shot by Reaves the other game. They definitely miss him tonight. Doesn't help that Skinner still sucks.

It's not just Skinner, from what I see. I've seen the MILD get more good chances in two periods tonight than I've seen them get in many combinations of two straight games
