He becomes a FA on Monday. Buffalo traded to try and sign him before the 15th.

The Leafs are probably one of his top teams. His dad is a former Leaf and is currently employed by them. They also drafted his brother.

Vesey made it very well known that he was going to become a FA. The Sabres knew that this was going to happen when they traded a third rounder for him. I think they were hoping Eichel could persuade him since they play in the same off-season league team.

I don't know if he was a problem. It is really weird, though. He's saying that he and Sakic didn't get along or something. I don't quite get it.

Roy was not the problem. Management of that team has blown chunks since about 2003.

He is a pretty bad coach so I'd say he was a large problem. That said, there is also some questionable moves so Sakic isn't completely clean of the mess. This offseason seemed decent and a step in the right direction. Still need some bottom 4 Dmen. Tyutin is a solid gamble. Erik Johnson actually seems solid.

The bad thing is it happened this late. Replacing Roy with Boudreau would have been a huge plus. If it ends up being Hartley, then you're not going to see as much of an improvement.

If Roy ends up in Montreal, prepare the "poor @smeth"
