how's the quality of the video for an old show GAB 89?

It's not bad. It's not the polished product they have today, there's more of a grittiness to the product at that time, but to me it looked good on my TV via PS3. They just put the black bars on the side of the screen.

I rolled up on Miami time with my Latina in tow (she took approximately 3 hours to get ready for wrestling...wat)

We got there at 9 o clock for a 7:30 show and the box office was closed, couldn't buy tickets

So we just went to a bar with her girls instead and probably had more fun

Watched SuperBrawl IV and Spring Stampede 94 on the Network today. Last half of SuperBrawl is really good and Spring Stampede is one of the best PPVs WCW ever did.

Love the network.

I don't think Vince would ever sell the WWE.. but I think having Raw and Smackdown on AMC rather than NBC Universal would probably make it a better product.

Vince already "sold" the WWE when he took it public. He's the majority shareholder still, but he's very handcuffed by what he can and can't do due to shareholders and needing to protect his profits i.e., advertisers. Main reason we now have this glorious "PG Era".

I agree Vince wouldn't sell. I don't think what channel Raw and Smackdown are on would have any affect on the product tho. I think them cutting Raw back from 3 hours to 2 would help things a lot.

I haven't watched too much of WWE in a long time.. but didn't they go PG because of a mix of Linda's gubernatorial run and NBC Universal? I'd figure a TV14 Raw on AMC would probably do much bigger numbers.

I think the PG stuff was more for sponsors than for NBC Universal, TV14 WWE isn't coming back anytime soon.

Sponsors just want ratings, which TV14 could bring

The only reason they went to the Attitude Era in the first place was to copy Paul E's genius ECW. They wouldn't have done it on their own, not without the blue print for success that Paul E gave them.

For example, Stone Cold was essentially a combo of Loose Cannon Brian Pillman and Sandman.

Cock sucking McMahon has always targeted his shit towards the kids, and he would have continued to do so if ECW and WCW weren't breathing down his neck.

FUCK VINCE, FUCK WWE, FUCK THE LIZARDS, FUCK THE ILLUMINATI

How has the live streaming been? Do you with the network think there will be streaming issues Sunday?

I don't know and I don't care - Terry Taylor while being interviewed in the locker room by Missy Hyatt at Superbrawl I prior to Stan Hansen coming out and beating Missy with his cowboy hat for being in the men's lockerroom

How do I know this? Because I have Superbrawl I memorized

It was a shitty match, doesn't make sense, but the marks would have committed suicide if Cena beat him..

Agree that it wasn't good. At least not up to usual Taker standards. Taker looked terrible from a physical perspective as well. I wouldn't have had Cena end the streak either, but if they knew he was going to retire, they could have positioned either Bray Wyatt or Daniel Bryan to be the one to do it.

Random thoughts:

  • Awesome opening segment, and Rock/Austin busting Hogan's balls about the "Silverdome" was hilarious
  • Ricardo Rodriguez provided some of the best comedy you didn't see all night. Every time the wrestlers came out to clear off an announcing table for a spot, he furiously pointed at the French commentary table to get them to wreck their table.
  • Cesaro = star. I'm legitimately excited to see how he gets pushed. Kofi's spot was incredible in the battle royal.
  • John Cena is a terrible story teller in the ring. His in-ring "acting" reminded me of Nic Cage. NOT THE BEES!!11!!1!!
  • The Shield deserved that squash match. What a terrible booking for their first (and only?) WM match.
  • How dead was that crowd for the Taker/Lesnar match? Easily the worst match of the night.
  • Like you guys have already mentioned, I don't mind seeing Taker lose, but it would have been better to see it happen to someone who needed a push. Shocking result, doe. Revenge match at SummerSlam and then retire?

Fuck. Pretty prophetic last words from his speech on Raw though.

"No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own," he said. "Every man's heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them bleed deeper in something that's larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized by the storytellers, by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him, and make the running the man did live forever."
