2019 MLB Thread

Read that the M’s have 11 of their 25 projected Opening Day starters are hurt at the moment. What kind of curse or whom did they not appease to cause this kind of attrition? This coming off a record-setting season of injuries in 2017 (whole new medical staff, too).

Prolly. That contract is crazy though. Hopefully they can keep him and Correa for a long time.

Yes its really happening. They couldn't pass it through on its own so they tacked it onto some budget bill that's going to get pushed through.

They are really pushing it because there's a number of lawsuits going around because minor league players are basically paid slave wages and they are trying to fight back against it. It was a pretty shady deal to begin with and only gotten worse. I read something about one of the co-sponsors of the bill originally backed out because she was lied to about what it truly is.

It really is disgusting, especially so because it's the MLB that pays those wages. There's certainly no argument to be made that they can't afford it.

also, how pitiful must it be to be a Marlins fan(all 12 of them). Their MLB team is supposed to be the worst in the majors and they just beat their "futures all stars" team 22-2

M’s missing the paloffs for the 17th consecutive season? Book it. No pitching depth will be their demise.

Cautiously optimistic about the twins this year. The buyer's market really helped them shore up their pitching weaknesses. Hopefully Buxton's struggles will put permanently put behind him because the offense could really go if Buxton is producing

Have no idea what to expect from the Phillies this season. I see anything from 71-91 to 91-71 in play but 80-85 wins is most likely. The Arrieta deal really jacked up the prices in the resale ticket market which I'm not a fan of.

Twins could win 95 games, that division is so bad at the bottom

Sawks will win 90+ but get bounced in the WC game because Sale has no arm left.

lol...gabe kapler pulls Aaron Nola after 5 and 1/3 and only 65 pitches after he gives up just his 3rd hit of the game. The next guy comes in and gives up a 2 run shot to freddie freeman.

Good move Gabe, good move

bahahahaha....Gabe Kapler pulls his starter after 5 1/3 who was cruising with 65 pitches and a 5 run lead and has mismanaged his bullpen to a 5-5 tie game in the 8th.

He deserves all the blame for this incoming loss and his over management.

theres no way the phillies don't score on this braves bullpen.

But the braves announcers mentioned early in the game that the Phillies were going with a more analytical "by the numbers" approach this season and mentioned that opposing batters hit over .300 off of Nola the 3rd time through the order and that was the reason he was pulled. But i don't care what teams hit off of him last season....hes shut the Braves down through 5 and 1/3 with only 65 pitches.....you let him pitch. Just so dumb

Last season isn't this season.

Let's not forget switching the left and right fielders based on who's up and yanking the best hitter in the lineup out of the game to make a double switch. This is stealing defeat from the jaws of victory scenario.

If this is the new analytical Phillies, I want the Analytics Plant back in charge.

Let's yank the ace after 68 pitches.
Yank the best hitter in a double switch.
Never use the best reliever.

Unfucking believeable. Gave Kapler gets a lesson in Overmanagement 101 in Game 1.

Braves continued what they did last season by hitting well in the last 3 innings.

Shoulda been a loss today though. Nola was realllly good. He deserved better
