How do you feel about the Pelicans season? Seems like some good development from Davis, amazing how far he has come in a few years. Coaching still looks awful, at least from afar
Where do I begin?
A.Davis - dont mean to beat this drum, but dude is legit and is a blast to watch. Im so glad i got to see him play in person this year. Albeit it was against the Kobe-less Lakers but still.
I still support the draft day trade. No one saw Holiday getting hurt, but if you've watched more than a 15 sec clip of them, you would agree that Holiday was an immediate upgrade over Vasquez. Is he CP3? No, but who else is? The pelicans dont need him to be either.
Evans - very slow start coming out of the gate. Not sure if it was conditioning or whatever, but he just seemed a step slower than everyone else. Was extremely glad to see him pick the pace up once he was inserted into the starting line-up. He makes Gordon expendable, but with another surgery headed into the offseason, it might be impossible to move him. BUT this is the NBA, SOMEONE will bite and trade for him. Would like to see Tyreke work on finishing at the rim better. When he is on and picking his spots, he is a very tough matchup. With that being said, he also needs to work on ball security. Too many times he lost the ball trying to do too much.
Rivers - Just needs to keep working hard. Work on his jumper and his off hand usage, and if he is going to be content with that floater, at least be efficient at it. But his improvement this year especially on the defensive end was a joy to watch.
Overall, injuries just killed the vision the front office had in mind this past offseason. Will be interesting to see what they do with Aminu, Withey, Pierre Jackson, Anthony Morrow, Babbitt and Ajinca. I lol'd when i saw it took them up until the second to last game to release Steimsma.
The jury is still out on Monty. I like that he tried different rotations down the stretch, but he seemed very stubborn at inopportune times to play the lineups that worked.
