Yes...he would have been drafted before 27.
The question is whether or not he is better than Marqise Lee from USC. Cooks is faster, led the NCAA in receiving yards, and won the 2013 Biletnikoff Award.
I like the pick. The Saints are the perfect team for Cooks.
Selfishly, I wanted Lee to land with either Seattle or NO. Last year's production dropped, because he was playing through an injury all year. But he was a beast the year before. I know a lot of SC offensive players have been busts lately, but I think Lee will be a great pro.
Lee could be dangerous on that team. Crabtree will certainly command the most attention from opposing D's. If Lee can can line up in single coverage all the time, he could have a huge year.
Though I wouldn't love having to see him deal with NFC West defenses all the time.
All of my friends who are RAWL TAWDE fans want the Saints to draft McCarron. Would you guys hate/love that?

Id laugh if they did that. But then brees would set another record or 5, then you'd laughYeah Colston is probably gone after next yr
It's a stupid idea, just throwing it out there to be ridiculed
@goblue96
I would like your opinion on this article. I thought it summed up my thoughts very succinctly

You say that without seeing what any contributions from any of those picks. What if the pels decided to keep Pierre Jackson and he becomes a decent pro? There are just too many ways to evaluate this and not as cut and dry as you and OU like to make it
The Pels have two top-11 picks on their roster and one of those is Austin Rivers.
We'll see. They hit MCW later in the draft than the Pels pick, maybe they just got lucky. If they have a guy who can scout, an average PG isn't going to do it.which has been my point all along. Ya'll are putting way too much stock in guys that havent played a single game yet.
Would you rather have Jrue/Steven Adams or MCW/Gordon/Noel?I'm probably the only Sixer fan in the world that was bummed about them trading Jrue for Noel.
MCW/Gordon/Noel now. I was saying when they traded him I was bummed.
I think what made it such a good trade is that it allowed them to take MCW. Who knows if they'll keep him but he played really well last year and his ceiling is way higher than Jrue's was.
ya'll acting like Jrue is 35 on his way out of the league. Dude just made what...24?
Jrue is a good PG Reel, but he's just average at best. Maybe slightly above average. If the Pels ever make the playoffs, which I imagine will be sometime in the near future, Jrue won't be the deciding factor.
I mean there's no denying he's going to be a big contribution, but he's no All-Star.
so if MCW production drops drastically in year 2, then what do you think? I mean, he is coming off ROTY whatever that means, and is in trade talks already? That could crush his psyche.
What if Noel gets injured again? What if jrue never plays again?
Then sixers win because jrue is retired and they have the 10th pickWhat if Noel gets injured again?
I mean there are just too many things that play into that and none of them fall solely on jrue. Again, Anderson missed practically the entire season. That was a bigger loss than jrue imo.If Jrue had played the whole season I bet he would have put up at least 18 ppg. Pelicans still wouldn't have made the playoffs though.
That's not their fault either. They're just in a tough ass division.
