You know I'm going to ask how Jrue looked, @Reel

healthy...they are still gonna restrict him on minutes, but he really looked good for the first time since he's been in NOLA.

he was very decisive in his decision making as well, pushed the tempo and had a nice shot. He is going to love this offense

Randle looks pretty good. Non stop motor. Clarkson is going to need some time playing off the ball.

Think if this team can stay somewhat healthy, they can push 40 wins.

40 wins would be nice. My expectations were for 35 wins. Lots of it will depend on how well Randle and Russell pan out.

Man I can't believe a guy who eats candy for most of his meals had multiple organ failures, seemed like a foolproof plan

Witnesses have also confirmed the drug news to TMZ, claiming Odom had cocaine and opiates in his system. They also noted track marks on one of his arms, but it was unclear if they were fresh or from previous drug use.

Taking everything is a helluva drug.

Hey dudes. Our annual Hardwood Paroxysm Season Preview dropped today. It is by far our most complete issue we've ever done. 30 team previews (3 sections per team), long form writings, our favorite tweets for each team, offseason moves, roundtable discussions, shot charts, predictions, absolutely incredible artwork, and probably some other stuff too. All said and done, it checks in at a mammoth 378 pages.

The preview is also the first of our new quarterly magazine we're doing. So if you're interested, you can either buy just the preview for $4.99 or buy a year subscription for $14.99.

Link is here: http://www.joomag.com/magazine/hardwood-paroxysm-quarterly-1/0359431001443200060?short

That link will allow you to see the first 20 pages of the preview. Click on "Full Version" to be presented with an option to buy the yearly subscription or just the single issue. Thanks in advance to any of you that buy it!

And hey, we've got Brent Barry's approval so you know it's good.

Tristan Thompson finally signed last night. 5 years, $82M fully guaranteed. Raw numbers jump off the page to a lot of people but I think it's good value for both sides. That deal will look fine once the cap balloons in the next few years. Cavs now have Irving, Love, and Thompson locked up for the foreseeable future plus LeBron obviously not going anywhere.

who else was going to throw $82M at TT?

Well, no one. But Love, Varejao, and Mozgov are all coming off surgery. Thompson hasn't missed a game due to injury in his career. They need him to lighten the load on those guys' minutes. Not to mention the fact that he is a perfect fit for the Cavs in terms of doing things like rebounds (particularly offensive rebounding), blocking shots, and being an exceptional pick and roll defender.

The max was 5/94 and he got 5/82. That's not even close to the max. His contact when accounting for the exploding salary cap translates to making what Javale McGee made last year. It's fine.

I don't have a problem with Thompson's signing per se, but I can't help but note that Cleveland is now $39 million dollars over the cap.

I hope the Cavs love this roster because they are locked in for the next several years.

And that's really a primary reason for the stalemate between TT and the Cavs. Agent knew he had the Cavs over a barrel because they were so far over the cap, the only choices they had to replace TT were to sign a minimum salary player or trade away assets to fill his role.
