Only trade I (read: Someone else did the research for me on this) can find that took longer to convey was Stephon Marbury being traded to FROM the Suns to the Knicks in January 2004 and becoming the Gordon Hayward pick in June 2010.

Charlotte gets the 2017 All-Star game. I have some friends there that are going to really fucking hate that.

I heard some rumors about Boogie to Denver sometime last week, I'd be all for that. No one wants Ty Lawson doe.

Whoops. I messed that up. He was traded FROM the Suns to the Knicks for the pick that eventually became Hayward.

Edited my earlier post.

I guess every team's bloggers/fans are drawing up potential Boogie trades. Some are hysterical- Grantland's Boston trade (of course)

"the 16th pick, the 28th pick, James Young, and Brandon Bass’s expiring deal?"

Ha fucking ha. NO. Was that for Cousins or Rudy Gay? Get out of here with your shit trade. Bass's expiring? All for me? Really?

LA seems possible, and the NBA will probably force Sacto to accept Clarkson and Bob Sacre as compensation for him.

Warriors without having to deal Klay or Dray? No.

Another Grantland homer: "The New York Knicks offer the no. 4 pick, Tim Hardaway Jr., Jose Calderon" again, fucking no. I don't need Krisnaps Pornsnoogle and two 9th men for a 24-12 guy. I'd rather keep Cousins and watch him cock punch Karl in team huddles.

My homer offer- Magic send Nic Vucevic, Elfrid Peyton, and Aaron Gordon. Kings get back a near all-star center , the next Derrick Williams in Gordon! and Peyton for an $8 gazillion cheaper and younger version of Rondo w/o the crappy attitude that would clash w Karl before the ink dries on his contract. Magic get an all-star who will no doubt clash with lazy mediocre hire Scott Brooks Skiles instantly also, and still have bad D Wade impersonator Vic Oladipo and Tobias Harris, plus their #1 pick, to build around.

Makes perfect sense, I hear fans of lesser teams always saying "well we need a SG" or that they don't need some stud player because they have Tayshawn Prince in the spot of or something stupid like that.

Agreed however I do recognize that position log jams do exist. Wasn't it Atlanta that had a bunch of forwards that practically played the same position or when Minnesota drafted all those guards in consecutive drafts?

I agree there- like if Philly took another center as I fan, I would probably think "Really Hinkie? Quit stockpiling assets you douche"

There are teams that try to play fantasy basketball for real and it doesn't work, but if you really do collect enough talent, you can supersede the traditional positional roles, as some of the better teams out there now can attest. But if the drop-off between the BPA at pick...3 is a position I have and the best "need" player is even 6th on my board is fairly steep, I'd probably take BPA and try to facilitate a trade later for someone of fairer value at that position.

Much better than what the teams are offering. If I was Sacramento, you could talk me into that.

K Love coming home.

errrz

Current rumor is Boston, not LA - via Woj.

They've been talking about bringing Love in for three years now. Interesting part is that they are also saying they'll bring in Robin Lopez (meh) and bring back Pierce (I approve).

The pieces are there 1- to make this work and 2- be very competitive with those three.

Bucks has been posting all year quotes of Love saying he's staying, but he would never say anything else so that's grain assault. If he decides to leave, I definitely think Boston has a shot.

I'd prefer Boogie, but Kings want more proven talent so I don't think Boston or LA can make a move for him.

Great White Hope!

Would be enticing to play for Brad Stevens and be "the man" again, or you can go back to Cleveland and be guaranteed at least the Eastern Conference finals the next 5 years. Good options either way.

I'm not in love with Love, but I like him in Boston: he'll do well as the #1 option surrounded by cutters and shooters. Hell, the Celtics could legitimately play 5 Out/Swing and still have a dominant post up threat.

Need to get a rim protector doh if ur gonna make any real noise.

im not trolling or trapping, but how is that situation going to be different than what he had in Minny as the no. 1 option...srs question

Stevens is arguably the best coach in the NBA (noted gambler Haralabob has said he's the best in game coach "by far") who's done an incredible job maximizing the Celtics' talent. They'll spread the floor and give Love plenty of room to go 1vs1 until the double team comes. Considering how skilled of a passer he is, that'll lead to a lot of good looks.

What they need to do to avoid a Minny situation is to get a legit rim protecting big. Everyone makes fun of him, but I actually think someone like Willie Trill would be perfect for them.

Long term, if Boston's a true contender again it's going to be on the backs of all those future Brooklyn picks. The Celtics are in the middle right now (worst place you want to be usually) but they have so many assets that they should be able to leverage them into something good. Plus Ainge is a really good talent evaluator: his 1st rounders over the years have been really good considering where he usually picks.

The comparison is not between Minnesota and Boston, but between Cleveland and Boston.

If Cleveland offers Love the same amount of money (they will likely offer more) as the maximum amount Boston can offer, why would the situation in Boston be better for Kevin Love than in Cleveland? "Hey Kevin, why play with Lebron James for a team that could have won the championship if you weren't hurt, when you can play for a team that can barely make the playoffs in the East?" I don't see the upside.

Better coaching + he might want to be the #1 option.

I don't know why the hell he would go to L.A. though aside from the home factor.

I think Brad Stevens is a good up and coming coach, but I think we should wait a little bit before we crown someone with a losing record in the Eastern Conference as a super coaching genius.

1. The Celtics were terrible this year and he took them to the playoffs. He did a great job.

2. He's awesome because of what he did at Butler, I don't really care that much about the NBA.

Um, they made the playoffs with a losing record. In the Eastern Conference. He may have done a good job with that roster, but them making the playoffs last year is not some fantastic feat.
