Watkins was there at 4 for the Browns but Buffalo lost their minds and gave up the #8 pick and a 2015 first rounder for him. Browns could have stayed put and taken Watkins or Evans at 4 or taken ODB at 8 when they moved down, but ended up with Justin Gilbert and BUF's 1st rounder next year instead.

That really is the Colt's biggest weakness at this point. When they decide to run the ball on both first and second down, it always puts them in a 3rd and long situation.

That must suck to watch. I know the year Denver was near last in the league in defending 3rd downs (Tebow's rookie year) I'd get so frustrated watching that shit. Time after time after time watching teams convert on 3rd and long is fucking maddening.

It is. It's amazing how much "better" they are on 1st and 2nd down but if it's 3rd and a mile, is like they forget what down it is and always give receivers enough room to catch in space and get the first. Every game with the exception of Dallas came down to a crucial 3rd down where the defense couldn't get off the field.

With Denver that year the worse it got the more they blitzed the house and the more open the receivers were. Look motherfuckers, on 3rd and 15 you don't need to blitz the house, just fucking cover.

It would be interesting to see the breakdown on 3rd downs and yardage to go.

At least with the Packers it seems like they do pretty good when it is 3rd less than 5 yards to go, anything over that and it seems like it is an automatic conversion from big pass, screen/draw or pass interference penalty.

Oh, and since they were blitzing a ton, DBs were always in single coverage and you know what happens if they get beat on a route. "Defensive Holding, 5 yard penalty, automatic first down"

Worst penalty in football.

still remember there was an illegal contact call on the Chiefs last month against Seattle. Third down and 11 and Russell Wilson is scrambling around with his dick in his hand with nowhere to go. Husain Abdullah bumps into Doug Baldwin 30 yards away from the play right as Wilson is getting sacked. But since Wilson was in the pocket, they called it. Illegal contact, on the defense, 5 yard penalty, first down. They went on to score that drive and tie the game up. You can't help but lol when these calls are made that have no effect on the play whatsoever. But the refs call it every time.

I honestly would like to see Pat Shurmur get another chance as a HC. He bombed in Cleveland, but it's Cleveland. Studying under Chip has probably improved hisself quite a bit. Hoping he goes to either of the NY teams, or Chicago if they fire Trestman.
